Overview

The Apprentice is an entry level position, starting at $18/hr, that enables the right candidate to learn and build tangible skills within a world-class market research and consulting environment, with exposure to work across our industry verticals.

Responsibilities

  • Survey testing / quality control
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Participate in preparing PowerPoint reports
  • Conduct online searches on key topic areas as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (mathematics, business, science or computer science preferred)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Numeric aptitude, including working knowledge of statistics

Overview

The Analyst holds an advanced degree or equivalent work experience with KS&R, another market research firm, or has other relevant corporate experience. This position typically works under the direction of an Associate, Insights Manager, or team leader depending on project size and / or complexity. Tasks and responsibilities may differ from time to time but will generally consist of the following:

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, assist in drafting business proposals and / or support other team leaders in the development of proposals; basic research design skills, requesting bids from partners / vendors to use in proposals
  • Responsible for testing CATI and Online surveys / screeners for programming accuracy
  • Communicating project requirements to programming and data collection partners / vendors
  • Scheduling and coordinating internal / external resources (e.g., travel, use of other facilities for focus groups, IDIs, international partners, etc.)
  • Developing moderator guides and designing surveys
  • Training data collection partners on project-specific requirements
  • Conducting Qualitative IDIs and moderating focus groups, as appropriate
  • Monitoring data collection progress for qualitative and quantitative research; problem resolution with data collection
  • Assist with coding / recoding open ended questions and / or oversee work of others
  • Checking early findings for data / programming quality
  • Assisting in the creation of reporting formats and selecting methods for displaying data and findings
  • Creating “special runs” or running analysis in SPSS as appropriate
  • Assist in and oversee significance testing and data validity
  • Assist in report preparation, editing and development of final product under direct supervision, including coordinating inputs from Marketing Sciences
  • Interpreting findings and making actionable recommendations
  • Interaction with clients as required to meet project needs — may be a day to day contact in a relationship, fielding calls, requests, etc.

Overview

The Associate is principally responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings. To accomplish these tasks, the Associate works directly with the client to understand, define and document the overarching business objectives. The Associate applies qualitative and / or quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. Associates interact with clients on a day-to-day basis on given engagements and demonstrate ability to build relationships with these clients. Associates oversee the work of Assistants / Analysts on specific tasks related to projects and mentors Assistants / Analysts to further their skill sets. Tasks and responsibilities may differ from time to time but will generally consist of the following:

  • Communicating with clients to ensure execution of business objectives
  • Support and / or lead in the development of proposals
  • Formulating analysis plans and schedules
  • Oversee design and development of work products to ensure that quality and relevant data is collected in a timely fashion. Exercises independent judgment in managing tasks and work products
  • Overseeing the development of surveys and moderator guides to ensure they meet project objectives and analysis goals. Assistance in designing surveys / guides may be required
  • Working with team members to execute project specifications and deliver quality results
  • Conducting in-depth data analyses using traditional (descriptive analysis across sample groups) and advanced methods (correlation, regression, etc.)
  • Conducting High Level Qualitative IDIs and moderating focus groups, as appropriate
  • Authoring reports containing actionable recommendations
  • Assisting in the growth of Assistants and Analysts
  • Making presentations — answering questions authoritatively
  • Build relationships with end clients — handles ongoing relationships (i.e. might make recommendations for future projects or can provide guidance outside of individual project)
  • As necessary participation in HR process / selection of team members
  • Use of SPSS for special runs or SQL for data queries (on pre-existing databases) to assist in story building

  • 3+ years of marketing research experience, with relevant education (Master’s degree preferred)

Overview

Insights Managers take the lead or assist others in selecting the appropriate research methodology and supporting techniques to meet a defined business objective. They work directly with the client to develop the project schedule, define the research instrument (moderator’s guide, questionnaire, etc.), develop an analysis plan and coordinate all communications. Internally, Insights Managers coordinate company or partner resources ensuring the quality, timeliness and accuracy of deliverables. Upon completion, the Insights Manager reviews the collected data, authors reports and makes business-oriented recommendations to the client. Insights Managers may oversee one or more team members on project tasks, and may also have direct on-going supervisory responsibility of staff — delegating and coordinating multiple concurrent projects.

Insights Managers are expected to assist in achieving revenue and / or profitability objectives from new and existing accounts.
