Accelerating Oncology Strategy with Timely Clinical Insight

In a therapeutic area as dynamic as oncology, timely insight into how clinicians interpret and act on new data is critical. KS&R partnered with a healthcare client to collect early, directional input from oncologists following the release of emerging clinical evidence.

This work focused on capturing how recent scientific developments are shaping oncologist decision-making, influencing treatment priorities, and reshaping perceptions of therapeutic options—equipping stakeholders with the insights needed to refine strategy, enhance engagement, and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

KS&R conducted a targeted online survey with practicing oncologists, gathering input from both in-person and virtual participants of a recent scientific forum.

The study explored which clinical sessions were most attended and impactful, assessed projected shifts in treatment approaches influenced by newly presented data, and captured changes in perceptions toward various therapeutic options and sponsoring manufacturers.

Additionally, the research examined the core drivers of clinical decision-making—such as efficacy, safety, and applicability—to provide a well-rounded view of how emerging evidence may be influencing care strategies across oncology.

Oncologists identified several sessions as particularly impactful, often citing new data as a catalyst for re-evaluating treatment sequencing or practice patterns. Many respondents expressed increased confidence in specific therapeutic classes based on the clarity and strength of the evidence presented. The findings also reflected improved perceptions of certain manufacturers, especially those associated with well-supported and clinically relevant updates.

These early insights offered a clear view into the evolving mindset of the oncology community, empowering cross-functional teams to act decisively—refining messaging, targeting engagement efforts more effectively, and aligning internal strategies with the direction of clinical thought leadership.
