What is your favorite part about being a Vice President & Principal at KS&R?
I love being a part of shaping the future of the firm. I really appreciate all of the great, hard-working minds at KS&R and the entrepreneurial spirit we have. There is never a lack of issues and problems to solve for our clients, so it's impossible to stop learning, no matter what role you are in.
What skill would you like to master?
Being able to start our tractor - it's almost that time of year where I might have to plow my own driveway if my husband is traveling. It's an old tried and true John Deere from the early 80s and I have to rely on my 12 year old to start it when Dad is away. If I could remember how to do it myself, I would be cheering and jumping up and down.
What's your favorite piece of clothing you own / owned?
Do accessories count? I have been obsessed with purses / bags since I picked out my very first purse at 4 years old (it was purple!). I love hunting for the next bag for my collection or selecting a new one to commemorate a special trip or achievement.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
People are always so surprised to learn I got married while still in college. We are working toward our 19th wedding anniversary. I'm thankful to have gotten married so young. Once someone learns this about me, I always get asked a bunch of follow-up questions and I'm happy to oblige
What one thing have you not done yet that you really want to do?
I would love to take my family on a tour of Europe. I love the UK and Germany in particular. My oldest son is obsessed with trains and has his list of favorites to ride while there. My youngest son is ready to be able to say he's eaten McDonald's in each of the countries he travels to.
What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of?
I'm a big fan of classics like Willy Wonka and Mary Poppins, but the movie I can watch repeatedly would probably be Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I will laugh at that movie for the rest of my life, perhaps because it hits close to home sometimes with travel woes.
What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
I'll take a side of mashed potatoes with anything - Cheeseburger? Pizza? A salad? I'll never turn down a side of good mashed potatoes.
What would be the most unsettling thing to keep occasionally finding around your house?
The first thing that comes to mind is a snake or other creepy animal! We live out in the country and who knows what might try to come in from the woods behind our house. We've had a mouse and a toad bust in before -- everything just needs to stay outside.
