Empowering the Frontline with Mobile Solutions
Mobile enablement is an important component in the design of applications specifically for companies that deliver services and solutions to customers with frontline workers – employees that work outside of an office setting where either all or most of their work must be conducted or completed away from a desk or workstation.
The expansion of 5G, coupled with the explosion of GenAI, had one of our technology clients wanting to know how to embrace these technologies and leverage their capabilities in mobile solutions that cater specifically to their customers’ frontline workforces.
We began with an extensive secondary research scan across a wide range of industries to:
• Understand the current environment- what companies offer and how workers are using mobile solutions.
• Identify emerging trends- what companies plan to offer and what frontline workers want or need.
• Pinpoint barriers to adoption- from the company and end-user perspectives.
This process resulted in hundreds of use cases, many similar across industries as well as industry specific unique ones. We then synthesized and prioritized these use cases to inform the next phase: a quantitative study.
The primary research aimed to determine which use cases are most relevant, represent the greatest need for improvement, and are most likely to attract investment. These insights guided the selection of top-priority use cases for solution design and development.
Together, the two research phases enabled the client to isolate high-impact use cases with broad industry relevance and strong investment potential.
This allowed the client to focus their efforts on designing mobile-first solutions that integrate the power of 5G and GenAI to support frontline workers. These solutions enhance the workers communication, training, and problem-solving, directly from their mobile devices.
The outcome? Increased productivity, reduced errors, improved safety, and a more connected workforce, even in remote or dynamic environments, ultimately enabling frontline workers to do more, faster, and with greater confidence on the job.
